My year 3s (7-8 years old) loved this one. It had great morals that I think a lot of children can relate to, particularly less sporty boys. My class are eager to read the next book in the series now, ‘Buried Alive’.

Great for my year 3 children.

What a great little adventure story. There was plenty of action and fun. I loved all the characters and their side kick toys. I especially enjoyed the moral of the story - which in my opinion was - sometimes it's good for you to get out of your comfort zone. You can surprise yourself and good things can happen.

I originally read this book when I was around 11 years old. However, during lockdown and doing some spring cleaning I came across my set of Jacqueline Wilson books that I have. I decided to re-read them.

This novel follows Tim, who likes to read and play boardgames and puzzles. He doesn’t like any sports and activity. His dad decides to send him on an adventure holiday. Tim realises that this could be the worst time of his life. He also doesn’t know how bad things can be. Once he gets there, he is forced to share rooms with the arrogant Giles. Will Tim survive the adventure camp? This book is a children fiction book set in England.

My favourite parts of this book were watching Tim become more confident in himself and knowing he can do it and work with his team and watching Tim and Biscuits become friends and sticking by each other. I love this book. I think it’s a great read especially for young kids who might feel the way that Tim felt during this book. When I read this book when I was younger, I couldn’t believe how brave Tim was. Even reading it as an adult, I couldn’t believe how brave Tim was. To this day, I still won’t go abseiling and he did.

I don’t think there are any weaknesses to this novel, I think it’s a brilliant read with lots of adventure and lot of friendships.

Forced to go to camp by his dad, Tim is forced to confront his fears - and face challenges he never thought he could.
