Eh....I think that the growth expected throughout a series is missing. The story is still enjoyable even without the character development.
As long as you know you're going to get an enjoyable mystery, you're not going to be disappointed with this Stephanie Plum novel.

As a life long fan, I am feeling meh about the stand still the characters have been in. Also, super weird that Rex is still alive. What's the lifespan of a hamster?

I didn't hate reading this. But halfway through I forgot that I can still enjoy these if I listen in audio form, and I read this on my kindle. I don't blame Janet Evanovich for writing the same story over and over (repeat the word over 27 times). If we, as readers, stopped reading this series, she'd probably stop writing it. We only have ourselves to blame.

These stories always hold a special place for me. It feels like I'm checking in with old friends every time I listen to one of them.

I struggled with how many stars to give this because I enjoyed the story, Grandma was still awesome, and of course Lulu.

What I didn't enjoy was Stephanie is off again with Morelli (we find this out in the first couple of pages, a little bit later we find out why; not a big enough reason IMO. And this story has been ongoing through a total of 3 book (this one and the 2 previous) and looks like it is continuing into a fourth. I like when we can wrap a whole case up in one book.

It's great to see Stephanie and gang again. Potts is hilarious! Gabriela is and interesting addition. I see a spin off in her future.

Hmmm

Ok. It's entertaining, as always, but Stephanie's relationship is sadly written.
Grandma Mazur's adventures are hilarious. New characters are a good thing. I feel that we have run out of steam when it comes to Stephanie's love life. I'm probably going to get suckered into reading the next installation, if there is one, with hopes for resolution.

As I started this book I realized I had already read it. I’m not a huge grandma fan, so I didn’t like it as much. But I’m still going to read all of these as they are released. Who am I kidding?
