Adorable, colorful and easy-to-understand picture book about a young Two Spirit child.

While not a literary masterpiece, this book does fill a whole in children's literature by introducing a Two Spirit character. The text is a little wordy for story time with young children, but is necessary for exploring the content. Based on a real family (who wrote the book). The illustrations are beautiful!

Although this book is tagged as fiction, it is based on the real-life experiences of the author's child, Phoenix. This was a lovely and sweet book introducing the concept of Two-Spirit people to children.
