I have such weird complex mixed feelings here. I was really looking forward to this book. I wanted all the cute fluffy feelings. And that's... not what I got.

THE GOOD
+ Lara Jean is such a likeable and relatable main character and a great narrator.
+ I liked Jenny Han's writing style a lot.
+ The family dynamic is just as pure and wonderful and supportive as everyone says and that was a joy to read about. Each member of the family is fleshed out and distinct. I especially enjoyed Kitty and her humor and personality.

THE BAD
+ I. Fricken. Hate. Peter. I was expecting to have all the swoony cutesy feelings but like... he was such a douche?!?! I don't understand why I was meant to like him or ship him with Lara Jean.
+ This book, especially in the last 100 pages or so, felt a lot like something I would have read when I was about 10 or 11 with just a few older YA topics added in. Someone literally says "you're not like other girls," and there's a mean-girl-in-a-bathroom scene. I did not need that and just found it super frustrating
+ Honestly frustrated was just a general mood for this reading experience and not in a good way.
+ I saw the "plot twist" coming the second it was introduced in the first quarter of the book and didn't even realize I wasn't supposed to know it until it was treated like a plot twist later and I was like... oh that's a reveal? That wasn't supposed to be obvious?

I overall enjoyed it and will be continuing on with the series but I was disappointed and annoyed by a lot of aspects. The beginning was better than the end and even though I guess this is considered a romance book the romance was definitely my least favorite part.
