The story is still building, Priest is clearly playing the long game. Really liked both Cary Nord and the Denys Cowan issues.

Alright so last volume was a bit overly convoluted in that it jumps between lots of different time periods and characters and your brain gets spun around every now and then because you stop to ask “who” or “what”.

But the thing is it’s good. It’s a really satisfying read. And issue 11 in this collection? Oh jeez it is so good it brought it up from 3 stars to 4. It’s one of those issues you want to own and put in your long box.

Death stroke is cool and his kids can be pretty damned interesting too.

4 stars.

El capítulo del barrio negro y toda la violencia me gustó mucho. Ver la desesperación y el ciclo de violencia que ocurre en la vida real me llegó hondo.
Lo demás meh, aparte de las narices de Slade de acostarse con la prometida de su hijo...

On the whole, a good but not great read that continues the first volume stylistically even as the plot expands drastically this time around. What sets this volume apart is the last issue, "Chicago" which is every bit as dark and depressing as it is smart and the artwork is next level. "Chicago is the best comic of Priest's I've read in a long, long time.
