Första delen i spänningsserien Vargflickan.

I enjoyed this new adventure from Anh Do but I am not sure the format is exactly right for the age group targeted. The font is large with pictures which puts it in the 7-10 age group but I felt that some of the issues that Gwen faced might be too scary for the younger child. It felt more like a 9-12 age group book.
Gwen learns to survive in the wild with some animals she meets along the way. They grow and learn together. Gwen is desperate to have her family find her but she realises she that family is not always who you are born in to.
Reminded me a little of a younger version of My Side of the Mountain and Hatchet. Great for the kids who love adventure survival books.

4.5. Easy to read, great to inspire reluctant readers to get into reading more.
I am going to love collecting this series. Surviving with a pack of puppies, an eagle, and a wolf. It starts with a lot of action and fear inspired by the author's childhood experiences of a family running away, but unlike the author, Gwen gets separated from hers. We don't know what happened to them, but time passes, and Gwen learns to survive in the wild with her new friends. There are lots of awesome illustrations in this chapter series book.
The book ends with a cliffhanger, so I am excited for the next volume.
