So...it took me almost 2 years to finish this book.
The concept was really good and the story was very entertaining but Sala literally dragged out EVERY scene. Something that could've been said in a paragraph was dragged out into 3 chapters. I often found myself stopping and getting bored because of it. Today while I was cleaning out my bookshelf I found this book again. I forced myself to finish the last 90 pages and realized again why this book was tedious and irritating. I skipped through 4 pages and realized Sala was still talking about the one characters thoughts...
Overall, 2.5 stars. The plot was good, storyline was good, but what brought it down was the execution. Sometimes quantity does not equal quality.

I generally like this story. It is a quick read but, I'm afraid, not really memorable.
Tate, the FBI agent, is after the serial killer Stormchaser who is killing the survivors of the natural disasters. The investigation leads him to his hometown and the only witness of the killer turns out to be Nola, his ex-girlfriend who he never stopped loving. Nola has just lost everything and to her horror she was also a witness of a murder. To protect her Tate will have to stop the killer and do it fast.
The whole idea of the serial killer connected to the natural disasters is pretty refreshing and innovative. What I didn't like are the references to God. There are no loads of them but still, there are some. And I didn't like the way the situation between Tate and his father ended. Also, the story slows down a bit in the middle after the very nice beginning.
I like Tate's friends Wade and Cameron and I will gladly read their books one day.

There was a bit of a problem where I knew more than I should have because I had read book 2, but this was interesting and I liked Nola and Tate.
