Quick listen/read but so many powerful perspective concepts. The major one is the concept of that when you have betrayed yourself in action or morals, then you confine yourself to be at odds with the world. You seek to justify your actions and consequently objectify others. Then other issues start occurring and a vicious cycle ensues. Definitely a book I will want to reread again and digest more thoroughly.

I listened to the audiobook and perhaps not having the visual made it harder to grasp. I felt like the explanations went and circles and were long and drawn out. Feel like the story could have been shorter and more to the point.

READ THIS!!! That about sums it up. This book is a must read for anyone. If you are in a relationship (I don't mean romantic, I mean if you have relations with anyone) then you must read this book. It unravels how the human heart works and why we do the things we do and what effect that has on our relationships and consequently our lives. Please read this, I now it will touch whoever does, it's that good.

Read this with a friend because we are both big fans of “Leadership and Self-Deception”, and this is the sequel. It uses a lot of the same themes to analyze the source of conflict in the family, workplace, and even between countries. I liked the original better, but I definitely enjoyed this one as well. It makes you more mindful of the ways in which self-deception prevents us from addressing the root cause of interpersonal conflict.
