very very heartbreaking and sad however towards the end of each pov it was hopeful and had a (somewhat) happy ending

I LOVED the first book so I was super excited for this one. Honestly, I don’t think this book was needed? Or, rather, I feel like I didn’t need the pov of Finn. I think because his whole perspective is condensed into like 17 total chapters you don’t really get the slow burn pining that is assumed in the first book.

I also the jumps of timing in the middle of chapters was a bit jarring but not the end of the world.

You can also not read this without reading the first one. There is so much assumed knowledge you had to know, even after reading the first book a couple months ago I was still a bit confused and wished for a little recap when reintroducing characters.

I really loved Jacks pov, made me cry. Love this character now.

I didn’t love the ending of the first book
regarding the ending pregnancy
but because this book expanded on it so much I actually now like the plot point so points to the author.

Ultimately, first book is much better but I didn’t mind being back in this world. Definitely for those who don’t mind ya writing and you NEED to read the first book first.

yet another book that did not need a sequel, if anything this could have been a novella or tacked on to the end of the first book. there were so many plot points within this that were barely touched on that felt unfinished and cut short. parts of it i enjoyed like
the metaphor with the hole in their baby’s heart which represents the whole in autumn’s
. but it was SO predictable and just not necessary. i enjoyed hearing finnys and jacks perspectives, but finnys was much more essential to the story and it could have ended after his.
why did this lowkey romanticize teen pregnancy as well
