I listened to the first third when I was obsessing over childhood — no longer obsessing over childhood

Membaca karya Enid Blyton selalu membawa kesenangan tersendiri buat saya, sekaligus mengenang kembali masa kecil.

Hmm..

I realized as I was rereading them that these books are to the Chalet School stories as Nancy Drew (the rewritten versions) are to Trixie Belden, steaming from plot point to plot point rather than taking the time for reflection and characterization. Both the Chalet School books and the Trixie Belden books feel more real to me.

A great start to the series. We follow the main characdter through the excitement and otherwise of her first term at her new school.

There is just something so comforting and wholesome about Enid Blyton books.
