DNF 50% started so strong. Now we’re just switching POVs when it’s not their story I care about anyways. Flipped to the end. Happy I didn’t commit to the rest of the middle. Had high hopes.

✨Age of Vice✨

“This is the age of vice, where pleasure and power are everything, and the family ties that bind can also kill.”

What an addictive book!

Welcome to a world filled with greed and corruption, gangsters and mobsters, drug addicts, kidnappings and murderers! The Wadia family rules Delhi - nothing happens without their consent. And what they want, they get!!

When I first saw the page count for this literary thriller I was a tad intimidated! Age of Vice is just over 500 pages, yet, I was engrossed from the start!

Age of Vice opens with a speeding Mercedes mounting a curb, within a moment five people are dead. A seemingly simple answer as to the who and why, and yet when the characters backstories unravel it’s anything but. Kapoor is a wonderful storyteller weaving the backstories of Sunny, Ajay and Neda to creates a truly dark and addictive drama.

While Age of Vice is slow to start it has some seriously bingeable moments. And the twist *chefs kiss* My tired eyes needed plenty of caffeine just to keep reading! A watchful servant, a playboy heir, and a journalist caught between morality and desire. You won’t want to put this down!

A decent enough story and very well written but ultimately not terribly unique story if I'm being honest. Especially disappointing was the character of Neda feels particuarly wasted and her narrative feels like it simply stops abruptly with no resolution or message. It's not a bad story by any means it just didn't feel massively new.

Beautifully written saga presented from multiple points of view. You can’t help but find yourself caught up in each character’s story, all intertwined, all traumatic and sad. I can’t wait for the next one to see what happens next. #freedom4Ajay

This is definitely an epic saga as it spans over 500 pages. I was totally engrossed from page one with the discovery of the Mercedes at a crime scene. However I was so disappointed with the end of the book. It was rushed and jumbled. How can you read over 500 pages and still want more?!

This is an epic that is not going to be for everyone. It is a bit violent and gritty. There are a few characters, and a switching timelines. I dove in and was totally taken by Ajay, and while part of me wishes we had stuck with him I understand why the views switch, you get a deeper & rounded view of the situation - of the politics and relationships. There is a lot to take in, I did half on audio which worked well for me.
