I adore this book and these characters. Molly is endlessly endearing.

A humorous and coming of age story about two sisters falling in love for the first time. Molly has had 26 crushes but no first kisses or boyfriends to trade stories with her twin sister, Cassie, who starts falling head over heels for a girl with a cute guy best friend (Will, Crush #27). Molly has self esteem issues labeling herself as the fat girl and who doesn't want to face rejection from a cute hipster boy. But she quickly develops another crush when she meets Reid, her new awkward coworker with a seasons pass to the Ren Faire and Tolkien shirts by the dozen. Will Molly be able to finally be able to overcome her fear of rejection and ask one of these boys out?

Well it's not Simon. But it's sweet. It represents people in a really fresh way-- physical characteristics, especially race, are not the first signifier assigned to new characters. A casual comment about skin color might fly in, only in reference to, say, needing more or less sunscreen or something. V refreshing. A bit corny toward the end, as though the author was just trying to wrap up every loose end (even ones that didn't need wrapping). Overall, 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed this book, as I enjoy all of Becky Albertalli’s writing.

I found it immensely relatable, as an introvert who feels for Molly in those group situations, as someone who also got swept up in a group of friends that felt more experienced in certain aspects of life than me.

But later in the book I felt like all Molly’s thoughts were centered around her wanting sex— not even just love, or a relationship, but sex. And maybe it’s just my ace-ness that made this part of the book bring the mood down for me? But i think it really subtracted from the deeper, better story of finding love at your time, in your way, and the story of families and growing up and growing apart and into each other.

It was a beautiful story, regardless. Just wish Molly’s thoughts had been a liitttle more diverse toward the end.

I really enjoyed this book! I love all of the friendships, the relationship between the twins, and the romantic relationships that arise. It is a very sweet and heartwarming book about finding your first love.

This was such a good book! I still love Simon vs the Homosapien's Agenda more, but this was still great and relatable for YA readers! This book has a lot of diverse characters. I also love that Simon, Abby, and Nick make an appearance in this book!
