My favourite since the first. I was truly guessing who dunnit for a long time- leading me to have some outrageous theories of my own. I loved the time spent reflecting by Lila, about her relationship with her friends but also about herself and her experiences.
It's a nice change of pace from other murder mysteries where they tend to become hardened and accepting of terrible. I appreciate the time Lila spent reminding herself of the losses, and then revisiting how she may have indeed forgotten how far she's come from her first run in with murder & death.
The murders may be rather regular, but I still wish I could live in Shady Palms. The sense of community, third spaces, and dedication to helping local entrepreneurs, and supoorting local is so my dream.
I also loved the introduction to the 'receptionist network'. Hope to see them and their helpful tsismis in the future.
I'm sad she doesn't get the other dog honestly, but it's still a sweet ending. Also I keep wondering if her and Jay are long-term, or if it's just a matter of time before her and Amir get together. I like Jay, but Amir seems so endgame. :/
