At first, I thought this wasn't t an emotional roller coaster ride, as some have said. It wasn't until 300 pages give or take that I started feeling some emotions.
I did like like the characters they were intriguing, but meh all the same. However, I did love the medium from where she came from and how she used to be to where she is now, total turnabout. Jenna, poor girl. Virgil, the alcoholic, I get it.
I felt like I learned a shite ton about elephants and how much they are like us, human's. How they mourn, live and love, play, and tend to everyday life. It truly is amazing!
I did have a hard time staying connected to this story.
My thoughts kept creeping in more and more every day. When people say they feel like they have watched this story on the tele, It's because it is like the sixth sense. Just add some elephants and a teenager.
I really wanted to give this a 2 and a half /quarter star, but I rounded up. Just to be fair.
Graphic: Grief, Mental illness, Animal cruelty, Dementia, Animal death, Alcohol, Miscarriage, Addiction, and Murder
Minor: Self harm, Grief, Dementia, Death of parent, Car accident, Bullying, Animal death, Addiction, Suicide, Child death, Animal cruelty, Alcohol, Toxic relationship, Murder, Suicide attempt, Suicidal thoughts, Miscarriage, Infidelity, and Emotional abuse
