worst one in the series so far

This book is basically Mia wanting Michael to ask her to his prom. It also has Lilly acting like a spaz.

It was okay. I'm just glad these books are short.

3.5

plot: Mia is a typical freshman at high school. She is unpopular and feels like she has the worst luck and genes. She just wants to blend in and make it through high school without failing. Until her dad tells her that she is a princess and her whole life changes.
opinion: This book was good. A little childish, but great for the flashbacks and good vibes it give. I always loved the movies and so far the book was consistent with the first movie.

plot: Mia is glad to be back with Michael. Now she has her sights set on going with him to prom . SHe keeps trying to drop clues. He is oblivious. That along with awkwardness of a first real boyfriend has Mia acting bizarre.
opinion: It was fun to read Mia and Michael's relationship. I was glad they finally got together. But right now they are too awkward around each other.

"I want to be Michael's property so badly!" Do u know how many times I wanted to scream when I had to listen to Clea Lewis whining about wanting to be her boyfriend's property????

And!!!!! Why are Mia and Michael even together if they can't have a simple conversation?? "Michael, the prom is important to me because it makes me feel like I'm a part of the normal teenage experience. Could we go?" !!!!!! THATS ALL U HAVE TO DOOOOO. Reading this series in my 20s is so funny.

This was super nostalgic but also very of its time. I don't think I can continue to read it to be honest because it's so superficial and Mia reads so dang young and I just can't. It was lovely to listen to Anne Hathaway read Mia :)

Review will follow on my channel

Least favorite in the series so far. I understand Mia is only 14/15, but she seemed extremely ditzy and immature in this one, more than the last 4 books.

I feel like all of the reviews for these books are starting to sound the same but again I really enjoyed this one. I still love that these are in the diary format, they are so easy to read and I love hearing the inner turmoil of Mia's thought process.

Mia is still her sarcastic, panic-ridden self and this time it is about the prom. Michael hasn't asked her yet and it is coming up very soon. To make matters worse, her grandmother continues to 'ruin' her life but being a very entitled woman and not understanding how a teenager's life works.

The messes that Mia's grandmother makes are hilarious and so over the top I love them. I think that the movie did us a great displeasure by making the grandmother likable. Had they kept to the books, I think it would have been far more funny to witness Mia get so flustered about her as she learns to be a princess.

These books fall one after the other and pick up where the last one ended so they are really just a continuation of Mia's diaries and so you don't miss a minute of her new life as both a teen and a princess with duties. I hope to grab the next one soon.
