Another enjoyable reread but I definitely enjoyed it more as a teen. I have to admit I do find Mia and Lilly kind of annoying at times but i was probably a bit annoying when I was 14/15. I also just can’t believe how different Mia’s granmere is in the book versus the film. I loved Julie Andrews character but in the book she’s so abrasive.

2015 Reading Challenge: #33 - from your childhood.

It’s fun brain candy. I’m revisiting the series first time since High school. The first three seem more fleshed out and Anne Hathaway’s audio narrator is superior to the Clea Lewis. I did my best to tune out Lewis’ delivery but it did taint the story a bit.

I’m only listening to the audiobooks at this point for background noise on my drive home but I’ll need to just read the rest can’t stand Clea Lewis. Overall it’s dated a little but the Mia at the start is a little more believable written as a high schooler.

Editing down the boy craziness would have been great but it’s Meg Cabot and that’s her trademark and style.

like i get it, Mia. you always worry about one small TEENY TINY THING!! in this case, prom.

it’s just frustrating at this point.
