Honestly this book was a total flop until like the last 10 chapters. It was somehow both boring and unrealistically chaotic. Paris is alive, Ella has evil parents, Emmaline is creating the illusion of destruction, almost everyone knows more then they let on, and Ella just kinda decides not to freak out now??? Idk man. I did adore the Aaron content and the little birthday party at the end made me cry so it got an extra star for that. I just hope the last few books make slightly more sense.

Taylor swift songs: “Love Story (TV)” (iykyk), “wonderland”, “so it goes” (IYKYK)

This was far more plot based than romance based, but I still liked it! It’s feels way more like an action movie type plot, or as action packed as “ hunger games Mockingjay” or “Allegiant” (divergent series) but I honestly like this better. The plot is more interesting than either of those and the romance is hands down ten times better. The plot twists are getting really crazy unexpected and all interconnected and woven together. I am very much looking forward to seeing how the story will end!
Again, can we just give a round of applause to my man Aaron Warner?? His and Juliette’s character arcs in this story are TOP TIER. Aaron Warner is one of the most fine/hottest book boyfriends of all time. He is the king of being DOWN BAD for the female lead. He is the moment, and he is the standard. I am literally obsessed with him now, even though I didn’t like him in the first book. I promise, by book 2 or 3 you will be down bad for Warner. He also pretty much invented the morally grey character?? So we love him and we stan.
There wasn’t as much romance in this book as the previous books, but it was still great. Again, I would put the spice/steam level at about a 1/5🌶️. It’s literally just describing their emotions, and kind of general/not specific AT ALL, and you kind of just infer, but don’t worry it’s still 🔥 their relationship has the most chemistry of probably any other dystopian couple I’ve read, period.

Age rating: 14+, I think they got permission to use more curse words in this book and future books, so beware of that
