Review time: I really liked act 1 and act 2, but act 3 felt insanely rushed like the authors were just trying to tie all the knots together. It felt wildly unnatural, esp since i was actually happy to see the climax happening so late into the book. I thought we'd get an unresolved ending full of tension and cliffhangers, and honestly that would have been more satisfying than what paige and danielle put together. I'd understand if this was a standalone, but its a series and theres a lot of room for extension so there was no need to attempt to tie all the knots together. Sometimes loose endings feel more natural.
Some things that i felt were rushed included, but are not limited to:
- Xaviers death
- Tim's banishment
- both Vivi and Scarlett's romances
- Raegan, Etta, Bailey and Hazel's betrayals
- Scarlett's meeting with Claudia
- Marjorie visitng Scarlett at the end
These were some of the few things that were hurriedly glossed over in order to have that picture perfect ending. I know Vivi said that R, E, B and H's betrayal was engineered by Tim, but really??? I feel like we could've explored that more instead of chalking it up to the demon.
Normally, firework endings where the entire main cast are together usually warm my heart so much, they're some of the most touching scenes to me. But this one felt entirely too rushed, and it reminded me of how Encanto ended with Bruno coming back and everybody underreacting.
Act 1 and act 2 were AMAZING imo, I was thoroughly entertained, it was all going so well until Vivi got into that weird argument with Ariana, Mei, Jess and them. After that it slowly crept downhill. Scarlett's meeting with Minnie in the afterlife felt rushed, the closing of the Hadesgate felt rushed like.....
And honestly the Ravens have major communication issues, i wish kass and danielle had commented on that instead of ending the story on such a positive note. The entire book the sorority was blaming Scar for stuff that wasn't her fault, and they barely offered her the apologies she deserved. It was just 'yeah girlboss sisterhood coven

This sequel to The Ravens is a fun read! It's a deeper dive into the characters' flaws and how they deal with the aftermath of the first book. The tarot based magic slays again of course. The new characters were intriguing and so was exploring how the magic system expanded. Definitely read if you like The Ravens or are looking for witchy fantasy with college age mcs.
Moderate: Body horror, Blood
Minor: Death
I think this book was a very fitting and well done sequel to the first. I think I actually enjoyed it more overall. There were some horror elements sprinkled (very) lightly throughout and it honestly made it more interesting for me.
The story starts off okay. The first chapters are nothing special but once you get into the mystery of everything it gets a lot better. And I think the story overall shows how people can use power (and lack thereof) to manipulate others in many different ways.

A gorgeous, tumultuous culmination of a lovely series.
This series is everything a weirdo like me (who always desperately wanted to be in a sorority, but was too poor and odd to make it) has ever wanted. I felt the wanting, the longing, of every girl in this story. Morgan and Paige really captured the heft of being a college girl burdened with glorious (and gossipy) purpose.

This was a delightful witchy read! I don’t think this one was as good as the first book, The Ravens, but was definitely a great continuation. I loved how each chapter switched from following Scarlett to Vivi and the overall fast pace of this book. If you enjoyed The Ravens you’ll definitely want to pick this one up!
I can’t give this five stars because of how long it took me to get through, but it’s definitely worthy of being called a five star read! I absolutely adored this! If you love witches, curses, and of course, demons, this is definitely the book for you! 💫
