a fair sequel! i think a lot of the problems could have been solved if the characters just talked to each other but i’m a miscommunication trope hater so take that as you will

I loved how we got more magic than book one. However, I was really disappointed by Vivi and how fast everything ended.
We have overall more magic, we can see all the glamours the Ravens use on a daily basis and we can see how reliant they are to witchcraft. I also liked how things got wrong with the Kappa sorority, how they were fragmented, broken, how all of this played a good part of this book. I also really liked the whole story around Xavier (even if I was sad for him) and Jackson, I think it was a very good addition to the story.
Where Scarlett stayed true to herself yet evolved a bit even if she had so much going on her plate, I was extremely disappointed by Vivi : I feel like she regressed, she became worse than she was in book one. Between the lies, willful omissions, secrets, all the things she does behind everyone's back (everyone meaning not only Maosn but also Scarlett and all her sisters), her way she thinks... Honestly I was upset with her most of the time.
As for the story, I do have to say I didn't thought it'd go that way. I would have prefered something more dark just like end of book one, and even though it was related, I could barely "believe" in it. About the ending, it went really fast and it was a bit disappointing, as we take like 80% to get there and then the remaining 20% are the whole plot closing + happy ending lookalike --- not that I'm not satisfied with how it ended, but it was way too fast so it felt like we passed quickly on it.

Again, I love these girls so much! Once again I was sucked into the world of the Ravens! The love they have for one another shines through even when the entire world gets flipped upside down.
3.5* I definitely didn't like this as much as I loved the first one. I hated the way everyone was against Scarlett and It was weird how it was titled The monarchs and they are never present and when they are it's a few pages. It's mostly about the two main girls and these 4 guys it was just odd. I loved the ravens but Not The monarchs!
