Why is the first chapter from the POV of someone who isn’t even in the book? Such a boring, irrelevant set up, not worth it.

Dark, gripping, steamy and gritty- reels you in from the first words!
Thousand Cuts is Anne Malcom’s first mafia romance, and she jumped right in with a dark, gripping, steamy and gritty read that reels you in from the first words. This was different from anything I’ve read of hers before, and I absolutely loved it!
Sienna and Cristian lock eyes from across a room and nothing is the same for either of them from that point on. Both are pulled to each other, in ways neither can fully understand. This is a forced mafia marriage and everything you would expect from a mafia romance and even more. The steam in this is off the charts and involves some kink, we have age gap, violence and romance. If you love mafia romances then you will absolutely love this one. I definitely hope this isn’t Anne Malcom’s last foray into the dark mafia romance genre.

This book will not go where you think it’s going after chapter one, let me tell you.

Anne Malcolm blew me away with this book. This is her first venture into the Mafia genre and I hope it isn't her last. Cristian is the type of male character I love to read, so alpha, but when he lowers his walls you see all the broken, vulnerable pieces. Sienna is a lead female character that shows she has a back bone mixed in with a soft spot. Watching these two go back and forth with each other, the constant push and pull of power in their dynamic was magical. I honestly could not stop reading the book. I didn't want it to end.

Cristian and Sienna are both hardcore. I wondered how this story would play out as it starts out with Cristians childhood sweethearts POV. Then does a ginormous 25 year time hop. Sienna was the total Opposite of Cristians
First love but that was perfect for The Cold, merciless mafia Don he has become. Lots of gore and smut but truly a different story than the usual virginal arranged mafia marriage.

This is my first introduction to Anne Malcolm- and I really loved her writing style! This book is dark, gritty, complicated, and super sexy. The plot was engaging, the sexual tension consuming, and the characters oh-so complex. I would have loved a bit more of the emotive connection between them- but their love-hate (and lots of hate) dynamic was quite captivating. Our hero is deliciously alpha and dark, though our heroine I struggled with at times- I couldn't quite get a handle on her as a character. Definitely a good introduction, but I'm looking forward to checking out some of this author's other books.

A tramatic event left Cristian with much more than just a broken heart at a young age - it took away all happiness and forged a Iife of revenge and ugliness. By becoming the head of the Family, he continues to feed his need for the ugly, cruel pain.
Anne Malcolm is known for writing kick-ass strong females. Sienna is no exception. Except she seemed to be a but wishy-washy in her mindset toward Cristian. One minute he is a perfect match for her, the next she's planning his demise. I suppose that can be attributed to her strong physial chemisty with him at odds with her desire to hate him. I never found an emotional connection between them, though.
Neither are particularly likable. Anti heroes at their best, so perhaps that is the point.
Fans of Anne Malcom will recognize her staccato sentence structure, strong females (including Supporting Character Sophia ), and dark story line.
