ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS EVER. i love you arundhati roy. the characters were so compelling; and so incredibly tragic. i think about velutha at least once a week

This was stunning. The imagery, the prose, the structure. It was a challenge to read because so much is in the form of vignettes that you then stitch together as you read. My one criticism is that some of the symbolism and extended metaphors where a bit much for me...but I think if I was reading this very closely, annotating my thoughts as I went along, I'd have gotten more out of them.

Be patient, while reading this book. Don't rush it. I tried rushing, I was about to DNF it for the second time.

i loved the writing style it seemed so innovative in the way it described the world- just in the way of children however i couldn’t buy that the main characters were 6 years old and idk the pacing sometimes it dragged and sometimes it fast forwarded so i didn’t like it that much
