This is a book about first love, friendships and summer jobs. It also deals with a few heavy topics, such as (kind of) PTSD, abandonment by parent, and encounter with guns. Overall, this is an amazing, feel-good contemporary YA novel.

Following Bailey as she moves from the East coast living with her mother, to California on the west living with her dad. This book takes place during a summer, where Bailey is new to town. In this town her online best friend Alex lives, but she doesn’t tell him she moved there. The two share the uncommon common interest of old movies, and she tries to find Alex in this town based on what she knows. At the same time, she meets Porter. A cocky surfer boy, who is just too sweet.
