An unnecessary sequel imo and the storyline and writing was pretty mid. Bummer because I liked the first one

It Starts With Us.
2.5/5

I really don't know why I spent my hours reading this rather than reading PJ or at least studying. I could have finished my math lessons, though.
When I was reading it, there were so many things playing in my mind that I wanted to say, but now I don't have any, just “wtf is that?”.
It's more fanfic than a book that someone wrote and published and people spent money on, like literally, that’s how the fans of IEWU see the characters.
I wasn't a fan of IEWU, I didn't like it or like the messages or the moral of the story (if it had any) , like how a TEENAGE GIRL AT THE AGE OF 15 BE A THING WITH AN 18_YEAR_OLD BOY?? The gap between them isn't big at all but she is just a kid!!! And now, in this book, everything is just keeping me thinking what did I do for myself? Ok, I loved Atlas in the first book, but why did she ruin him in my eyes? He was the only thing I love!! Coho made him a freak, like, you guys loved how Atlas was caring, loving, respectful and perfect? So, take it, meet this literally flawless version of him. Give me some flaws, man! Be a thing! Ryle went and punched him and he just talked to him?!! Did he did what's right in many times? Yes.
Does anybody do this in real life at least from the very first moment? Absolutely NO.
People get angry at first or sm, they do anything.
He is saying in ALL of his povs that he just loves Lily so fuck!ng much!! He discusses his love life with a teenage kid??? I don't know how I will still love Atlas. Ok, he was so nice and caring, he helped Lily a lot and so on, but man give me anything!
And Lily writing her journals with the Dear_Ellen is just a little bit cringe, you're a mom now, dear. I know it's more like Lilly thing but it felt more like Coho brings us back to the book, like see! This is just like IEWU.
Not talking about that piece of sh!t that's called Ryle, man go to a therapist, please. You're a neurosurgeon and for sure know therapists, he knew that he was a pain in the a$$ for Lily, and he is the one who ruined their marriage, and is still complaining and kicking the ground.
As I said first, this book is just an attempt of the author to bring back the days of IEWU, she saw how much it went viral on TikTok so she thought “why don't I write a sequel?” , and again this is so fanfic, and it was written so badly, my friend can write better than that.
Anyways, love you, Atlas, my old Atlas and the one who is living in my head.

*ok, re_viewing my notes, and I felt like Coho was forcing us to love Atlas, she made Allysa describe him as a Greek God, have no idea if that's ok, but it sounded weird, she made everyone that met him loves him and says beautiful things on him, it would have felt normal if anyone else wrote it but Coho.

I’m glad Lily & Atlas get their happy ending. Without giving away much more, I’m satisfied with the ending for all the characters we first met in It Ends With Us. But the writing itself seems so basic. Dialogue is stilted or unrealistic. This complex story that tackles deep topics like domestic abuse deserves more nuanced, thought-provoking writing.

Did I dislike it? No. Did so need it? No.

This was just an unnecessary epilogue in my eyes. It was quick to read which was good, but nothing happened that I wouldn’t have expected based on the first book. I

i love coming back to my least favorite author to make sure she’s as bad as i remembered

Traumatising.

5 stars because WHO WOULDN'T FALL IN LOVE WITH ATLAS ??? i'm so glad that lily finally got the happiness she deserves in this book T.T (i was worried that this book might give her more heartaches but ... Thank God for Atlas) <3

4.5

The sequel to It Ends With Us - after 2 years, Lily runs into Atlas. Is it finally their chance to be together? With a one year old daughter, a preteen brother, and an abusive and angry ex husband, Atlas and Lily have plenty of things to work through. Will they get their chance at a happily ever after?

This book got me just as much as It Ends With Us did. It hit me so hard, given my personal history. This story gives me hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel of abuse, divorce, and coparenting challenges. I loved the story of Josh and the hope that he also has now.

⭐️3.5 because the beginning was very slow and I considered DNFing until I was emotionally hooked around 20%.

This entire book did not need to exist. The characters are flat, and the romance feels dull. I honestly don't think I've ever been more disappointed. The only reason this is not one star is because of the plot line following Josh. Even though it was completely out of left field that Atlas has a secret brother, it was the only part of the book I actually enjoyed. After this shit show I dont think I'm gonna read another Hoover book again, it was such a drag to finish this and can't see her writing style ever entertaining me again which is a shame since I genuinely enjoyed It Ends With Us.
