A really good book. I almost couldn't put it down, except in chapters 9 and 10 then I had to force myself to keep holding it.
Her humor was very dry and exactly my style. She managed to make the book a cohesive story which I have seen failed time and time again by other authors. Most importantly, this book feels like it genuinely comes from a place of interest, and that makes all the difference. The amount of work she does to get to the bottom of, perhaps, pointless questions and the passion with which she writes comes through so vibrantly. I would highly recommend this book for those with a strong constitution and a high quantity of unyielding curiosity.

I've add more of her books to my TBR and I'm so so excited to read more. Truly brilliant.

An interesting and informative read. Not what I was expecting, but I’m glad I read this one. So much unusual information.

This was very interesting, as someone who sometimes works with the deceased some of it was what I know already. I appreciate the humor in this and I feel like it makes death a little less scary and makes you think of what you what to have happen to your body when you pass. Thankfully people donate their bodies to science so we can learn.

I thought this was just a writing research book for me so that I could better understand the stages of body decomposition. But Mary Roach wrote this, so I loved it because of its charm, humour, and heart despite the subject matter. Her writing subtly guides us into spiritual thinking about the connection between our bodies and souls as a tool to gauge how we feel about that subject. I really liked this.

Mary does a great job making a morbid topic hilarious and enjoyable. Lot's of interesting stuff that I didn't know. It's obvious that she's done a ton of research.
