Gosh, I really wanted to love this. I did. I was hoping a slightly darker take with Cal’s point of view would save it… it didn’t. Lucy spends her time crying. Her innocence is difficult to believe. She really reads MUCH younger than she is and that’s a me problem… I hate it. This duet should have been a single, slightly longer book. There are some editing issues in this one, too. It felt rushed, and yet like it kept going around in circles. Sorry.

An interesting follow-up to the first book....

The first book in this duet left me speechless and in awe. I couldn't wait to pick up the second book and find out where the story went next.

Overall, I enjoyed the story, especially the second half. I'm all for the slow burn, but I wanted to smack some sense into Cal by the time we reached the halfway mark.

I loved watching the love bloom between Cal and Lucy... it seemed organic, even frustrating (Cal!) At times, but it worked... I loved seeing them happy at last.

“Even a tragedy can have a happy ending. Sometimes we just need to write it in ourselves.”

This duet has it all. I felt every emotion and was entirely wrapped up in Cal and Lucy. ❤️ I love the conclusion and the journey to get through, my heart is happy. I'm so glad I went into this blind, I think it made the story more captivating, and I highly suggest just diving in.

I... didn't like this.
I didn't like both characters
I didn't like the plot
I didn't like anything really.
I don't understand why the author went that way with Cal's trauma and the fact that THEIR FIRST TIME, which also happens to be LUCY'S FIRST TIME, happens in a bar bathroom.... against a wall.
No thank you.
This pissed me off

The Glue to Repair My Heartbreak

Hartmann has done it again. This time we get a dual POV of the struggle and uphill climb that Lucy & Cal have to make.

It ends on an HEA with profound wisdom sprinkled throughout. Life lessons taught in beautiful story of living life for every moment, good or bad.

Find your sunshine. Chase your lightening bug. Name the stars.
