I kept waiting for it to get more complex but nope. Just a very long winded way of saying material goods don't buy happiness

The constant tension throughout the second half of this dystopian Love Island book kept me invested. Quick page turner. CW for lots of violence against women.

This book had me on edge like nothing else has in a while. Such amazing social commentary wrapped up in the familar (reality tv competition). I really enjoyed the depth of the characters and my jaw DROPPED at several parts. So so good
medium-paced

Okay I loved the content of this book, but the writing sometimes confused me and pulled me out of the story. I also got a little bored in the last 3/4 of it (maybe that was the point though?)
But I love how it goes through how we are shaped by what society wants us to do, how “higher ups” for lack of a better word control us, and materialism.
3.75?
