this book was a page turner, but there were too many loose ends and unanswered questions that I think could have increased the overall depth of the novel. for example, tell me more about this "war" they kept referencing! what is the state of the world outside of the Compound?? what happened to these characters and previous contestants?

I found the story very compelling and hard to put the book down, yet the characters fell super flat. I get what the author was getting at about late-stage capitalism and consumerism, but it just felt very shallow — which was maybe the point — but I still wanted more from it.
