An enjoyable read, relevant to our modern times where reality shows hit big. I loved thinking about the themes of manipulation in reality shows, consumerism, performative love, modern life and more, that are effectively shown in the novel. But I wasn't really rooting for the characters. It is the whole 'atmosphere' that worked for me. 

The first half was fast paced and engaging but it loses steam in the second half. This is more of a vibes book and the characters (there are many) do not show much growth. Enjoyable summer read!

I have not read Lord of the Flies, but know what it alludes to, and with that knowledge I think 'Love island meets Lord of the Flies' hypes this book more than it deserves.
