It took me a chapter or two to get into the book, but I ended up enjoying it for what it was. I won’t be reading the rest of the series, though I will be recommending it to my partner. This is more their style of book than it is mine.

A funny and lighthearted fantasy novel about a modern witch family. Definitely in the "beach read" category. The writing was generally clever and funny. Characters and plot were not very developed, and some things didn't seem very believable such as the romantic subplots.

2.5 stars - This was a fun, light book. It was largely pretty predictable (so much so that it leaves you wondering how the main characters are so clueless). At the very beginning of the book, which is one of the chapters not the point of view of the main character, I thought I might actually DNF the book (which I NEVER do), luckily it got more readable after that. I thought the premise had a lot of potential, but it ended up a very light, silly book.

An okay book, not really exciting, but I was intrigued enough.

This book just wasn’t for me, but I can see somebody else enjoying it
