The Bladesmith duology comes to an end with this sequel, Master of Iron which serves as a quite satisfying conclusion.
There’s a little bit of recap at the beginning to refresh my memory of what happened in the previous book which I’m thankful for cause it’s been a while since I read the first book.
I got hooked into the story pretty fast with the easy writing style, short chapters and the loveable characters that makes this book pretty hard to put down.
Ziva still battles with her anxiety and it also intensified quite significantly when the villain also ruin the only safe place she used to have: the forge.
Ziva is not all perfect, she’s not a fearless and badass character which makes her feels more relatable in some parts. Although, she can be slightly frustrating sometimes but she began to grows throughout the story as she tried to got out of her comfort zone.
I love seeing the romance between Ziva and Kellyn grows in this story.
I really like seeing how patient and supportive Kellyn is toward Ziva and in return Ziva also made an effort for their relationship to work.
The last battle at the end is one of my favorite parts as Ziva display a show of great power.
I’m also quite satisfied with the ending because all the characters got the ending they deserved.
I really enjoy reading this duology as a whole. Fantastic world building combined with loveable characters and great twists along the story makes this a duology I would recommend.
I’m looking forward to read more books by this author in the future.

Skews toward YA, sweet/no heat, first love. Nice conclusion to the duology. Excellent treatment of chronic anxiety.

i adored seeing ziva, kellyn, petrik and temra again. i loved how their found family dynamic stayed! i’m also very happy with how the romance subplots ended and with how the world building was wrapped up nicely.
i wish there was an epilogue of ziva & kellyn’s life together, but i’m still satisfied with the ending. i love this duology so much and im so glad i picked it up!
