Ayyyyeeeeeee, I adored this book! It was bold and witty and filled with delicious I hate you but actually not energy. This is heavy duty on the past trauma and mental health issues, so be mindful.

At times Beatriz's constant "he's fucking someone else immediately after me, for sure" got a bit tedious, even though I know it's based off her own experienced trauma with her mom and grandmother abandoning her. So I both felt like a dick for getting frustrated by this element and also sympathetic because she feels this way.

I loved the character growth throughout, especially with Ben and how he owned up to his privilege and worked to better himself. The trauma with his family broke my heart.

I was really satisfied with the end and how it resolved. The geekiness also warmed my heart. This line made me cackle:
“Yeah, dumbass. Who else is gonna quote Jane Austen to me while I’m riding them?”

Its a pretty spicy/ open door romance that is more sex than it is Shakespeare retelling. I had a fun time but I wish there was more pining and the banter that made me fall in love with Much Ado.
