An excellent writers' book that highlights the REASON of storytelling.
While geared towards screenwriting specifically, this is just as good information and inspiration for all forms of fiction writing as well.
I only wish there was a newer edition I could have read. Mine was from the 90s, so all the examples, while many were amazing stories/movies, also felt really dated considering the most recent would have been from 1997 or so.

Due back at the library. Picked it up to page through and intended to skim much more quickly than I was able to.

Great book for anyone that wants to begin writing screenplays. But there are lots of concepts also useful for writing stories in general.

Clear and concise guide not only to screenwriting, but to the fundamentals of writing in general. Many things I also found were practical in life itself. Excellent read.
