But that's not the books fault. That would be a sign of a very good book. If it wasn't for the main character.
There was no character arch. She was insufferable, annoying and straight up manipulative. She did not learn. And it was exhausting reading everything from her point of view.
The publishing industry is hard. It is unfair. The portrayal of it was spot on. But having such a toxic main character negates her view on everything. And the one thing she was right about feels wrong as well.
The ending left me speachless. I was wondering the whole time, how a book like this could end. And it was very disappointing.

Is is a well written genius critique in which we follow the „villain“.
June is an unreliable narrator and the definition of white women tears. You are meant to feel bad for her and in conclusion feel then bad, for feeling bad for her.
This book is brilliant, shocking and most importantly of all not at all far fetched!
