A Phantom Affair was the author's first dive into paranormal romance, and although it isn't the usual paranormal ghost story, it was still a great read. Emmanuel Jackson has been "haunted" by a woman (Syren) who he sees in his dreams and hears her when he's awake. What he thought was him losing his mind is revealed when he meets Syren after being asked a favor from his brother, and learns they are connected in ways unimaginable. Not only are they connected, but he holds the key to breaking the curse placed on her.
I was SAT when reading this book. There were twists and turns I didn't expect, and didn't feel were predictable. The emotion in this book was whew. I cried.

A really strong start for the year! I loved the way love prevailed for Emmanuel & Sy. I feel like we need Elani & Jacob’s story next!
