I have always wanted to read Sherlock Holmes stories, and I was not disappointed. It took a little longer for me to read this book, but I also struggle reading books with older English. All of the stories were different and unique in their own way, and I was sometimes able to guess the culprit! Overall, it kept me on my toes and I am excited to read the stories that are left. Definitely will read again!

I really enjoyed this whole collection of stories. It was fun to read each one and try and deduce what Sherlock Holmes was going to come up with this time! The only thing I was disappointed in was that it seemed to end all too soon and without a solid conclusion... but perhaps that is the point! Perhaps we are meant to believe that Sherlock Holmes is still out there, diligently solving cases for the seemingly hopeless populous. Definitely a fun classic to read!

Great collection with versatile adventures, but I have to admit it still got a bit repetitive towards the end.

About three quarters of each story is descriptive, while the crime is only solved in the last part. I don't mind this at all, but it's mainly the narration and used structures that are being repeated. Perhaps it's more enjoyable to read the short stories separately, with some time in between.
