EEEK I LOVED THIS! Slow at first and struggled to get into it but man I was hooked once I got there. Liam and Dianna have my heart I NEED them to get a happy ending together bc the way this book ended HAD ME STRESSED! Ugh what a freakin book. I laughed so much during this and cheered for these characters so many times. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This book set up a great premise and was enjoyable for a while. The action/fighting scenes were GREAT, especially the MMC’s. Definitely the author’s forte.

Unfortunately, it felt so… YA (besides the adult themes).

They all looked at me as if I had grown horns. I quickly ran my hands over my head, making sure I hadn't before I asked, "Have you guys not watched any sort of adventure movie? Hello! [SPOILER, INSERT COMMON MOVIE TROPE HERE]?"

The FMC was supposed to be this feared badass who didn’t give two shits about what people thought of them but only came across as immature and, at times, cringy enough to make me wince. I’m tired of the crude and sexual female character archetype!! 😔 And the MMC also wears tight trousers… eugh. 😔

The romance between them felt more about possession and control rather than actual love. I didn’t feel much romantic chemistry; they just seemed more like best friends (not factoring in the lust). Not necessarily a bad thing if it weren’t advertised as romance.

Plot was there but soon became repetitive and a little boring once you realised it was going around in circles. You just had to read through a ton of filler to gain any sort of new significant information.

This book took me forever to read. It took a long time to pick up. However the story was good just very slow. It is somehow funny and dark which I love. I will be reading book two!

5 STAR RATING!! I adore the plot so much! It’s full on adventure and tension through the whole book. Dianna and Liam started out as enemies-friends-lovers. The backstory of Dianna and Liam are sad. They both have gone through really hard times throughout their lives. When they team up, let’s just say that the connection is real and the character development shined through. If you love adventure, trauma growth through characters, and cliffhangers, then this is for you. Be aware there is graphic content throughout the book, and could be hard to read for some, but just know it was an AMAZING book! God bless Amber V. Nicole for her beautiful storytelling and her crazy cool creativity! Can’t wait to read books 2 and 3❤️

THIS RIGHT HERE.. THIS RIGHT HERE BRO.. This was an excruciating slow burn with forbidden lovers and great banter, but the kicker for me was the fact that the FMC is the morally grey one. Based off how the book ends I cannot wait to see how she makes people pay for the things they've done.

I didn’t personally connect to this story and the main character’s relationship, I did think Dianna was pretty funny and badass but something about the story fell flat for me.

The first 15 chapters of this book almost made me DNF they were so dull. I think I'm glad I stuck with it? It wasn't what I had expected at all. I literally just finished listening, so I guess I'm still processing everything! I really disliked the narrator's pronunciation of "foyer" especially since that word was used so frequently. I enjoyed that Diana and Liam could match each other's violence, I'm not a fan of just one partner being vicious. Might continue the series, but I'm gonna read another book or two first to really sit on this one
