I started this book a while ago and only just got around to finishing it. The premise of the book was very engaging as our characters navigate dealing with both political agendas, rival gangs and an infectious disease being spread. I love Juliette’s ruthless personality and Roma’s more cautious persona- I think they balance each other nicely. I will say the ending was a little annoying because it doesnt seem that much is resolved but I look forward to reading the sequel and seeing how everything concludes!

I absolutely loved this story! It was such a fresh take on a Romeo and Juliet retelling! And the romance is even better because it takes the reckless adolescent insta-love and turns it into a second chance love with more depth ♥️

I loved the idea of a gangster Romeo and Juliet retelling. The pacing seemed a bit up and down — I don’t think the many POVs helped this. However, I’m still intrigued with the plot and will definitely check out what happens in book 2.

The pacing on this seemed so off. This could have been about 100 pages shorter.

It was enemies to lovers type of romance. This book was different from her Lady Fortune in two distinct ways. This book had in your face romance while lady fortune had more subtle romance. I wish both books had more romance, they were both lovable couples. Lady fortune had more paranormal fiction while violent delights had more of a boogey man feel until more towards the end of the book when you finally got some type of depiction of what the “madness” was. Chloe Gong does write exceptional and I don’t regret reading her books. I’m glad I started with Lady Fortune, and I compare the two not because she wrote both but because they are about the same characters in the same story world but different couples within that story line. A great read.
