It is made up of two books and if you had already read Swift/ Defoe/ Schiller/ Bacon ( at least one of those, and many more that are now exhibited under the title of "canonical") you will have the impression of already having read this some time ago. Or maybe is just me projecting.
This is not the ideal world of a 21th century man so be careful how high your expectations would be regarding this. It will not be a heaven of sorts.

2.5 ☆ — definitely thought-provoking, but boring. I think if you're a fan of Brave New World, and the topics it discusses on society and religion and politics etc., you'd enjoy this.

3.5 stars. This is a short and interesting book, but I find More’s utopia untenable on this earth, and I think he does too (it’s up for debate exactly how he felt about it).

A masterpiece. I truly think this is one of the best books I have read for both entertainment but also spiritual nourishment. Despite the author himself being a christian and furthermore canonised, there is little emphasis on Christianity in his Utopia but instead a society based on common morality and good, allowing for his utopia to be applicable to varied demographics. On top of this I found the book delightfully comprehensive, once again encouraging a wider range of influence. Finally I enjoyed this as a historical text and I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in communism and Marxist ideals.
