Interesting story, but the book itself is incredibly repetitive and padded.

Fine true crime, but full of one cop's conjecture about the murderer and her motives. There were several times when he used a total average woman's experience as evidence for her sociopathy. For example, he said that the new mother's expressed desire for time to herself was evidence of her capacity for heartless murder

The writing style was a little hard to get used to - sooooo many subheadings in every chapter. And while most true crime books are mostly about the offenders, victims, and the families, this book was just as much about the primary investigator, and covers aspects of his personal life more than it does the people directly impacted by the crime. Still, the case was interesting, and it was a quick read.
