Like the first, major pacing issues in the first half, but the end is very fun. Characterization unfortunately weak in this one, Gyre is poorly written and it makes his chapters grueling. Also I’m not sure if Wexler is trying to compete with other sapphic SFF but it just doesn’t work the way he writes it and it’s a huge detraction from the rest of it. It’s not my favorite series ever but it’s enough fun mindless fantasy to keep me interested when I need a lighter read
