This is the kind of Black Widow story I want to read: Nat being a spy, revealing a bit of her origin, and being a badass. I'm just sad it's ending.

The Best Of: January: Part One

1. Captain America giving Black Widow a pep talk! "I can't save them all." "We could never save them all. That's never been part of the deal. But some must be saved. And you've got to save them. The ship is ready. Do what you can. It's the last thing you'll ever do on this earth. Go save these people. They are the one who will build a better future in exchange for our past."

2. Yet another Red Room flashback! Yes! Older KGB assassin Natalia Romanov!

3. Marina is back! Natasha has a friend again! Celebrate!

4. Another cat. I sense this is a theme. And it's an orange tabby. I have an orange tabby.

5. Natasha/Marina bonding! "The Red Room wasn't all bad." "At least we found one another there." "At least that."

6. Most of the plot here revolves around Cuba and a Cuban family the KGB wants to take care of before they defect to the U.S. It's very intriguing even if I didn't describe much of it in this review.
