I enjoyed the originality of this book and there was plenty of obstacles to keep the story moving.

The only thing I battled with was Heavens terrible communication and choices.

This was cute but I will say towards the end I started to get aggravated. I think the romance was cute but be forewarned this book does have the cheating trope. And if you don’t like miscommunication, maybe stay away from this. I liked a lot of things about this book but as I said, towards the end it started to become a bit too much for me.

I want homemade Oreos! This book might give you diabetes. It's a sweet, quick read. Another swoon-worthy Shane but the bonus is that he can bake and he looks good in a blue suit!

This is another book I downloaded on KU because of one quote I saw on instagram. I went into this completely blind, the only thing I knew was that it’s was a workplace romance/that he was her boss.

I will say, why does it feel like every romcom has something to do with the FMC being cheated on in the beginning. It feels like authors believe their two options are: being cheated on or have been hopelessly single for like ever. I do like that the FMC loses all feeling for her boyfriend when she finds out he’s cheating. However, I just had a feeling that the revenge she planned was going to end very badly. I am not shocked to find out that I was correct.

Despite that, I enjoyed myself throughout the book. I felt like the two MCs have okay chemistry. I liked all of the sweets & treats he gave her, as well as the way he stood up for her against the ex-boyfriend. I don’t think their relationship was anything special, just your run of the mill romcom. I also went into this, based off the quote I saw on IG, thinking that this would be a spicy book. However, it was incredibly tame. I would have liked to see a little more spice to compliment all of the tension we experienced between the two.

I do think the name Heaven is not terrible in the grand scheme of things. However, I genuinely cringed when I read the last sentence of the epilogue…

spice level:

This book was amazing! Letizia knows how to win me over with romance. Heaven and Shane were two very intriguing characters. This one is a work romance and it was so well done. Heaven's boyfriend cheated on her and to get revenge she makes a fake dating profile to try to catch him in the act. On the app she meets Shane, a sweet man that loves to bake. Heaven gets a new assignment at work and Shane turns out to be her stressed new boss. He of course has no idea Heaven is also the girl he has been talking to online. And seeing as she hasn't broken up with her boyfriend (soon to be ex) cause she can't afford the rent on their place alone this brings even more problems in the mix.
I loved this story so much! Shane is so great for Heaven as he accepts her and her flaws (the chocolate scene if you know you know). Seeing them both grow and their relationship evolve was so cute to read. The one thing I didn't "like" was how hungry this book made me. Talking about all those yummy desserts really awaked my cravings for chocolate.
So if you want a cute steamy love story about two stressed people be sure to check this one out!
