4.5 stars! what a fun adventure this book was — it gave me the same whimsical feeling of spirited away and my neighbor totoro. things i loved: miuko is a loud ass bitch like me, there’s a little bird bestie that’s cocky and annoying but hilarious, found family, a kind father, and a chaotic, relentless plot. adore it! recommend it to anybody looking for a light good time!

It's been a long time since a fantasy novel with as much world building as this one has held my attention - let alone held it so raptly and immensely.

This book deserves a much longer review than I'm going to give it at the moment, but what I will say is that Traci Chee has managed to DO
