Začalo to skvěle.

Určitě by neuškodilo knize třeba sto stran odebrat.

✨REVIEW✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the first book I’ve read by Austen and I’m so happy to say I actually quite enjoyed it!

Emma is a sharp-tongued, witty, stubborn and spoiled protagonist. It is astounding how Austen was able to write a character that is obviously flawed and selfish and yet is still likeable and relatable.

What I loved most about this book is Emma’s character development. She goes from being self absorbed and naive to being empathetic and considerate (with the help of Mr. Knightly of course).

This novel is anything but plot driven which might be a dealbreaker for many readers. It is, however, an analysis and exploration of human relations and perception.

Most of the content in this book went in one ear and out of the other. It gave me the energy of the show: Bridgeton, which is fine if you like that, but I hate it. However, Jane Austen once said that Emma is a heroin that ‘no one but myself will much like’ and that holds up - I literally despise her and I was so happy for Harriet at the end.
