Consider the Oyster by M.F.K. Fisher

Stumbled upon this slim and delightful ode to humanity’s favorite bivalve and couldn’t be happier for it. Funny, remarkably accessible, given it was written over 80 years ago, and left me with a greater appreciation for oysters (didn’t know it was possible). If you love oysters, you should reward your good taste with this. If you don’t, you should still read this and appreciate the wit and wisdom on display.

I sincerely wish I could've partied with Ms Fisher just once.

"Cicero ate oysters to nourish his eloquence, and the ancients used them with a startlingly cold-blooded combination of gastronomy and pure hygiene."
