This just came together a bit sloppily for my taste. I definitely got suckered by the gorgeous cover. Didn’t love our FMC and felt a lack of depth in connection to both our MC’s here. Overall this was just ok for me. Once one obstacle was cleared we never touch on it again and all the big moments between our MC’s were truly like “why is this even a big deal??”. 3.25 ⭐️ Is it an ok book/read? Sure. Is it impactful enough for me to recommend? Probably not.

I had such high hopes and I’m so disappointed. The last email written by the main character is probably the most likable she had been in this entire book. The relationship between the two characters was toxic and built on miscommunication and the FMC being unkind to herself and the MMC.

This was a cutesy fun time! I loved the DEI rep, and the themes and struggles discussed of women in the workplace. Especially in male dominated spaces.

The banter in this book was very well done. They’re kinda messy and petty. And Rafe definitely needs to deal with confrontation and issues better? Would they last idk but his IG baking account will with all of those thirsty women throwing themselves at him.

It’s a fun ride. Rounding up to 4. Not earth shattering obsessed but loved all of the difficult themes it covered for women.

DID NOT FINISH: 29%

I’m sad about this one. I chose to DNF at 29% (chapter 9). In the first7 chapters the 2 main characters *barely speak* and there is a ton of internal monologue from the FMC that she totally hates the MMC but also things he’s the hottest guy she’s ever seen. In chapter 8, they have a conversation basically revolving around the MMC actually being single (but still talking on the phone to his ex??) and the FMC saying to herself “why do I care? I don’t care. But I do care…” and I just couldn’t keep reading. Zero tension, zero character or story building, I was annoyed and I knew if I kept reading I would stay annoyed.
