What the actual fuck. I have the first book in the series a 4+ because of the smut and depravity but this lame. The smut was so repetitive and the characters were flat and I'm sorry *spoiler*

What the fuck was the immortality shift the last 15% when did this become a Paranormal book?!

His Talisman is the second book in the CNC Fraternity. You don’t have to have read His Keepsake to read this book.

This is Charity Smythe, Doctor H. (Hulk) Romanus and Cassius Falkor’s story. She is a submissive masochist. The men are just flat out sadistic.

Cari Silverwood has outdone herself with being very dark and kinky. Her books are FULL of triggers so you have been warned and her books aren’t for everyone.

I have said this before about Cari Silverwood’s writing. She loves to push boundaries and this book is a perfect example.

I think my taste in reading might have changed, this is cringeworthy sex reading. 3.5 stars

Cari Silverwood is one of those authors who always surprises me with her stories. They never follow the path I have set in my mind, thank goodness, and it makes each of her stories that much more exciting. This is a dark read about a woman who has experienced some horrible things and the doctor who is trying to decide if she should be kept alive or done away with. It's twisty and turny and full of surprises. It's wonderfully written and captured my interest quickly, and I couldn't put it down once I started. And the ending wasn't what I was expectiing, in the best way possible. I loved it!

Full Disclosure - I beta read this so am more than a little biased

We met Charity, briefly, in [b:His Keepsake|58942577|His Keepsake (CNC Fraternity, #1)|Cari Silverwood|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1636677324l/58942577._SX50_.jpg|92891171], though this book can be read as a standalone. Her story is not a happy one and if you've read His Keepsake you will know just how dark things got for her, the consequences of knowing too much about powerful men.

Offered a choice of living in a luxurious prison room, or the freedom to roam an island but be the pet of one of those powerful men, Charity is stuck between a rock and a hard place - yes that is a euphemism

Ok, so I'm thinking this is probably my new favorite of Cari's. This story kept me right on the edge of my seat till the very end. It pushed all the right buttons for me.
This is Charity's story and the 2nd book about the CNC Fraternity. If you read book 1 His Keepsake then you'll remember Charity and the trouble she found herself in knowing more than she should about the members of the CNC Fraternity, because now she's found herself being held and nobody coming to help save her, but she knows she has to stay strong and not give up. But then she meets Doc aka Hulk. He's been sent to check her over after what happened to her. When he see's her he not only feels compassion for what's happened to her, he feel's an attraction towards her, but he know's he can't help her or can he, so he makes her an offer that if he was to free her that it'd be on his terms the only thing is she could never leave or she could stay where she's at and never see daylight hmm. I know which one I'd pick. He takes her to his island where she meets Cassius. That's all I'm saying you just need to read it and enjoy. This book was just so good. Definitely a must read.

Cari Silverwood has written an attention-grabbing story about Charity, a young woman who has been through a devastating and horrendous experience, but it must be decided if she knows too much and is worthy of keeping. Enter Dr. Romanus (Hulk) who tries to heal her to the best of his ability, and gradually decides to take her to his island to see if she is worthy. Cassius is sent to keep an eye on whether Charity will comply or whether the CNC Fraternity must step in and alter this arrangement.
This story was gripping and full of naughty adventures, and I absolutely loved it!
I was not expecting that ending at all, it completely blindsided me.
This is an interwoven and continuous story from His Keepsake, and although I did not read that one, I did not feel I was missing anything with this story.

I like that Cari Silverwood never fails to deliver on dark kink when she puts out a new book in that area and His Talisman lives up to that. The warning for this book is very accurate and this is not for the faint of heart but for everyone else, enjoy. Charity is delightfully interesting, with her blend of masochism and a need to know more that definitely creates some situations. The Doctor and Cassius were intriguing with the push and pull of their own agendas that affected things and I had a hard time putting this book down even as I had to wince at times while reading it and fan myself at others.

Wow, I seriously adored this it’s book two in the series but definitely can be read as a stand-alone. The heroine here is Charity the best friend from book one and when this ensues our girl is in a pretty dark place she is also deeply traumatised a direct result of the events that precede this. I enjoyed book one a lot but this one managed to surpass all of my prior expectations and as usual, this author managed to stretch all of my usual boundaries so beautifully. For me, this portrayed the perfect balance of sadistic twisted dominance offset with some much-appreciated nurturing. Both men easily flipped their switch from one extreme to the other and Chasity got to sensually suffer and experience such sadistic delight which she more than enjoyed by the way and It was definitely appreciated by me witnessing both sides of the coin.

So after the events that led to Charity’s brutal attack, she finds herself left with some severely limited options. Now knowing far too much regarding the CNC fraternity and its exclusive activities she's a definite liability so accepting an offer from the Doctor seems the only logical way forward. Cassias is hired to keep tabs on the Doctor he also offers Charity a glimmer of hope that one day if she plays her hand right she may escape her island cage. But when the two decide to then share Charity they all enter into an uneasy alliance that slowly builds the foundations for something none of them even anticipated.

This had secrets and mystery and was also an easy page-turner. The chemistry between these three was electric and the scenarios described and the language used incredibly filthy but equally delicious. At the same time, I could also feel the strong emotional connection that had managed to develop here. I loved the eventual conclusion and the resolution this arrived at; this is a story that definitely delivers.

Such a well-written and engaging read that kept me guessing be prepared to have your boundaries stretched but definitely go in blind for the total immersion and the complete experience. This one is definitely kinky and hot as all hell but it also had an equally nurturing and Caring vibe much more so than its predecessor. Loved it and definitely recommend reading. Be aware though this one has plenty of triggers and delicious darkness and the romance is most definitely an unconventional one. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of His Talisman (CNC Fraternity #2)
