i loved this so much- it was amazing. it intrigued me from the first sentence and i honestly couldn’t stop thinking about it. the characters were complex and interesting and different. audrey rose was a little annoying from time to time however, as she was a bit “ not like other girls “- but that is to be expected in victorian england, i suppose. anyway, i’d recommend this a lot- it’s well written, and has good setting description, and of course the characters too!
though, i didn’t understand why she and her father were so ready to let the killer go, and to cover up what he did- that kinda annoyed me.

Thomas Cresswell alone could make me give this book a 5 out of 5 stars, but there were some issues with the book.

predicted the murderer and found a lot of dialogue to be cringey, but i enjoyed the story and the romance. will probably read the next book eventually.
also enjoyed the use of actual facts from the case.

If I could Give this book a 6 I would. Nothing has felt so dear to my heart since the invisible life of Addie LaRue.
Going into this book at a time when i as very down and anxious was probably the best decision i made. This book took me away from my spiraling thoughts and kept me so captivated i could focus on nothing else. The smudges of romance throughout was extremely adoring and i can say without a doubt that Thomas Cresswell is my top Book Boyfriend ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💕😘🙌

Inspired by the real Jack the Ripper murders that was set in 1888, it's a mystery book with a romance subplot. It took me longer to read than I expected because I was also researching about the real-life victims of Jack the Ripper.

It was a quick read (as expected since it's YA). Both MCs are badass and not annoying. 🤭 I get the hype of Mr. Thomas Cresswell now. 😍

The good, very descriptive writing captured the ambiance and vibe perfectly. Do be warned that there might be some gory descriptions since, you know, it's about murder and corpses. If you're not used to that kind of stuff, might as well rethink if you really want to read this.
