So far, the battle of wits between Light and L has shined brightest in this volume. I love seeing all of their thoughts especially during the tennis match, so riveting! And we even got a sneak peak at the new Kira!

P.S. The potato chip scene was not nearly dramatic enough XD

2023 Reread:
Things are starting to pick up in this volume. The interactions that Kira and L have are getting a lot more intense and the strategy game is getting more and more elite. I will say, I remember a character in the next volume being my favorite, but I'm a little worried going into it that I will find her annoying.

Another day, another volume consumed. I'm devouring these like a starving person. The cat-and-mouse chase is getting intense... and I'm at this point where I almost can't decide if I'm rooting for our evil protagonist to get caught or for him to keep outsmarting everyone. This is the crime genre + fantasy/horror hybrid at its best.
