AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. have not been this completely sucked into a book in a WHILE. will say that i am someone who adores the raven cycle and am currently on my 4th reread of that series, and while things are contextualized within the book, i don't think someone who hasn't read TRC would enjoy this book as much. it feels much less like a companion series set in the same universe and rather a flash forward continuation of the original series. that being said, i loved it. my current emotional state 5 minutes upon finishing having read the last 20% in one sitting is wanting to gnaw off my fist. AHHHHH.

Tldr; Ronan and company are back and better than ever, and the cast, the writing, and the stakes are *chefโ€™s kiss*.

There is something intimate in being read to, hearing someone speak in a ragged, raspy, growling tone... It gives you goosebumps. Will Patton, sweet baby bajebus, your voice does things to me.

Also, Maggie Stiefvater did it again! I got sucked right into this story, just like TRC and do NOT regret a thing! The world, the characters, the story, multi-POV, new characters mixed with existing ones from TRC! GOD DAMN IT YOU'RE FUCKING BRILLIANT!

There is so much going on in this one!
My reactions were as goes:

Oh shit!
Matthew, oh, my heart. ๐Ÿฅบ I'm not crying, you are. ๐Ÿฅฒ
What!?
Oh my gods!
Gasp!! Oh fuck!
*shocked face* ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
*almost crying*๐Ÿฅบ
*sad face*๐Ÿ˜ž๐Ÿ˜Ÿ
Well shit, I did not see that coming.

Now if I can get Cloud Library to cooperate, I can start Mister Impossible!

(mild spoilers)
I'm just not a fan of multiple perspectives when the stories don't intersect until the last 40 pages. Also the chapters were very very short and too many of them ended on cliffhangers, so it was really hard to get invested in any of the stories since they kept cutting off.

I will say, listening to this wasn't the best idea because I found it a little hard to follow in the beginning. Though that might also be because it's been forever since I read The Raven Cycle. But Ronan is one of my favorites, and I enjoyed getting to see his world expanded. And I'll still probably read the rest of the trilogy when they come out! I'm intrigued to see what happens next.
